Privacy Policy
This policy explains what AI Swap Meet, run by LCP Solutions LLC, collects, why, and how you can have it deleted. Short version: we collect only what we need to run a parts and car marketplace, we never show your email publicly, and we don't sell your personal information.
What we collect
- When you create an account: your email address, the public display name you choose, and anything you add to your profile (town or region, short bio). We also keep your account settings (alert preferences and your synced My Garage cars), when you joined and last signed in, and the browser type for each signed-in device so you can see and end sessions.
- When you post a part, car or bounty: your email address, and what you put in the listing (title, description, price, location, photos, car details).
- When you message a seller, buyer or shop: your name, email and message.
- When you sign up for the newsletter, alerts or texts: your email or mobile number, what you're searching for, and a record of your consent.
- When you list a shop: business name, location, phone, email, services and description.
- Automatically: a one-way scrambled ("hashed") version of your IP address for spam and abuse limits (we don't store the raw IP in our database), and basic technical logs kept by our host, Cloudflare.
- On your device: if you are not signed in, "My Garage," saved searches and similar tools are stored only in your own browser (localStorage). When you sign in, your garage is copied to your account so it syncs across devices.
Accounts, sign-in links and cookies
We don't use passwords. To sign in, you ask for a sign-in link by email. The link works once and expires after 15 minutes, and we store only a scrambled (hashed) copy of it. When you use the link, we set one session cookie (asm_sess) so you stay signed in. It is "secure" (sent only over HTTPS), "HttpOnly" (page scripts can't read it) and "SameSite=Lax" (not sent with most requests from other sites), and it lasts up to 30 days. On our side we keep only a hashed copy of it. You can end it anytime with Log out, or end every session with Log out of all devices. The cookie is strictly necessary for signing in; we don't use advertising or tracking cookies. Cloudflare may set its own security cookies (for example for the Turnstile bot check).
When you first sign in, we link any listings, bounties, Reader Rides and Founding Seller number you previously posted with the same email to your account.
How we use it
- To publish your listing, confirm your email, and pass messages between buyers and sellers.
- To send the alerts, newsletter or texts you asked for.
- To fight spam, scams and abuse (including automatic keyword checks and Cloudflare Turnstile, a privacy-friendly bot check).
- To understand, in total, how the site is used so we can improve it.
- To follow the law and protect our users and us.
What's public
Your listing text, price, general location (the town you enter) and photos are public. If you have an account, your display name, profile town/region, bio, member-since date, earned badges and activity counts (such as live listings and listings marked sold) appear on your public profile and next to your listings. Your email address is never shown. When you reply to a message we forwarded, the other person will see your email address, because the reply comes from your own email account.
Who we share it with
We share data only with service providers that help us run the site, under their own privacy and security terms: Cloudflare (hosting, database, photo storage and Turnstile spam checks) and our email delivery provider (for example Resend), plus a texting provider if and when text alerts launch. We may share information if the law requires it, to protect someone's safety, or to investigate fraud. If LCP Solutions LLC is sold or merges, user data may move with the business under this policy. We don't sell or rent your personal information, and we don't share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Affiliate links
Some eBay links are eBay Partner Network affiliate links. When you click one, eBay may set cookies under eBay's own privacy policy so they can credit the referral.
Email and texts (CAN-SPAM and TCPA)
Every marketing email includes our mailing address and a way to unsubscribe; we honor requests within 10 business days. Transaction emails (like confirmation links and messages about your listing) are sent because you used the site. We send texts only with your express written consent; reply STOP to cancel or HELP for help. Consent is never a condition of buying anything.
How long we keep it
- Live listings: while they're up. Removed or sold listings and their photos: deleted within 90 days, unless we must keep them to deal with fraud or a legal issue.
- Unconfirmed posts: deleted after about 30 days.
- Messages relayed between users: about 12 months, for safety and fraud checks.
- Newsletter, alert and text sign-ups: until you unsubscribe, plus a record that you opted out so we don't contact you again.
- Hashed IP rate-limit records: about 24 hours.
- Sign-in links: expire after 15 minutes; records are deleted within a day. Sessions: up to 30 days, or until you log out.
- Accounts: until you delete them (or ask us to).
Your choices and deletion requests
You can ask us to show you, correct, or delete the personal information we have about you, or to remove a listing. Email [email protected] from the email address you used, with "Data request" in the subject. We'll confirm it's you and respond within 30 days (usually much faster). Signed-in members can also use Delete my account in My account, which immediately erases the account and everything tied to it. Deleting your data removes your account, sessions, listings, photos, bounties, Reader Rides, messages and sign-ups from our database. Residents of states with privacy laws (such as California or New Jersey) have these rights and may use an authorized agent; we won't treat you differently for using them.
Kids
The site is for adults. You must be 18 or older to post or sell, and we don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you think a child gave us information, email us and we'll delete it.
Security
We use HTTPS, keep admin access behind a password, store only hashed IP addresses, and limit who can see personal data. No system is perfect, so please don't put sensitive information (like your home address or ID numbers) in a listing.
Changes
We'll post any changes here and update the date at the top. For big changes we'll post a notice on the site.
